Years ago I photographed clusters of white lilies at one of our town’s annual garden tours. One particular photo haunted me forever because of the play of light on the blooms. But it wasn't until recently that I finally saw the juxtaposition of the flowers in my head that I was able to proceed. I also envisioned the piece in oil rather than acrylic for the overall effect that I had imagined.
