“This little painting came about when my husband walked into our kitchen with his mother’s old enamel colander filled with cucumbers and one tomato. I couldn't resist immediately setting things up on an antique drop leaf table in our hall where the light was gently illuminating its surface. Not quite knowing where to place the tomato I just put it down and walked away to retrieve my camera. When I returned I thought, hmmm, that tomato is the odd man out, and that then became this miniature’s title.”
