Initially this series of Golden Retriever puppies with a Mayberry U.S.A. theme was commissioned by the Hamilton Collection for limited edition collection plates. Before I even started to paint, for reasons unbeknownst to me, the project was cancelled. Because I had only created the concepts and layouts in pencil, I decided to shrink the images and make them into miniature paintings. A collector had purchased the one painting I had completed, and upon finding out that there were five more companion pieces yet to come, immediately requested that I complete them all. |
