Each time I go, I make it a point to see or do something extra,

and that's how I discovered Magnolia Gardens Plantation, which is a must see for anyone visiting Charleston. The restored plantation home is surrounded by acres of small lakes and cypress trees heavily laden with Spanish moss and towering over the most magnificent flower gardens I have ever seen! I found this very petite statue poised on the edge of one of the small ponds and started to imagine all kinds of creatures coming down the bank to quench their thirsts. I finally chose to include a red fox as a complement to the purple azalea blooms. This painting truly tried my patience. It was a most difficult and time-consuming miniature.
